KOLA, Inc. conducted a Traffic Impact Study for the redevelopment of the six-acre triangle property in “Uptown” Park Ridge, Illinois. The award-winning, mixed-use development, known as The Residences & Shops of Uptown Park Ridge, consists of 70,400 square feet of retail space and 189 multi-family dwelling units.
KLOA, Inc. evaluated and recommended traffic controls, a redirection of network traffic as a result of street closures (Meacham Ave), new geometric designs at intersections, peak hour street operation changes, and new signal progression and installation. The evaluation included the complex six-corners intersection of Touhy Avenue (IL 72), Northwest Highway (US 14) and Prospect Avenue. New traffic signals were installed on Summit Avenue at Touhy Avenue and at Northwest Highway, which facilitated the movement of vehicles and pedestrians between the development, surrounding Uptown blocks, and Metra station.
